About Middlebere Farmhouse

Middlebere Farmhouse is a 16th-century reed thatched cottage, which probably started life as a longhouse. The original features inside this Grade II-listed cottage, like its two inglenook fireplaces with log-effect gas stoves, give it a real sense of history, while modern adaptations make it a comfortable place to stay.

Right on your doorstep is the RSPB Arne Reserve, with its wealth of rare bird life, which is best observed from the Middlebere Farm Hide, a short walk from the cottage. Beyond it, the landscape continues to impress with large areas of open heathland and ancient oak woodland. You’ll be amazed by the diversity in the area.

Located at the heart of the Jurassic Coast, you’re well placed to enjoy this world-famous stretch of coastline, with its secluded coves, towering cliffs and beautiful beaches. The golden sands at Studland Bay are a 20-minute drive away, where you can get out into the clear water, or hike up the headland for panoramic views of Old Harry Rocks - great chalk rock formations that rise from the sea - and the rest of the bay. The money you spend on your holiday contributes to the conservation of Studland Bay and the other places we care for in the area.

Inland, the iconic ruins of Corfe Castle are only a 10-minute drive away, and the market town of Wareham is just down the road from the cottage. Enjoy its traditional pubs, shops selling local produce and weekly markets.

Middlebere Farmhouse is joined to North Cottage (sleeps three, dog friendly) and opposite The Bakehouse (sleeps two, dog friendly). Multiple cottages can be booked together.
