Step 1
Begin your walk from reception and follow the path that leads down to the house.
Step 2
As you follow the path, stop by the cricket pavilion and look over to the old stable block which is now run by the Conway Centre.
Step 3
Follow the path and as you turn the corner, wait for the impressive views of the Menai Strait and the house. During winter opening hours, turn right and continue down the dock road (rejoining the route at point 5).
Step 4
Continue onwards down the path, then once you reach the courtyard, follow the path alongside the croquet lawn, to the right.
Step 5
Follow the tarmac path which goes down to your left, then take the first path on the right, before you’ve reached the dock.
Step 6
Continue along the tarmac path. If you want to take a break at this point, there's a bench on your left offering lovely views. Or you may like to explore the Camellia Dell on your right.
Step 7
Come back to the path and continue forward, then go uphill off the path and onto the grass and look for a gap in the trees. Who will be the first to spot one of the oldest trees in Plas Newydd? This is a pleasant place to sit for a break. Continue going uphill until you reach the tarmac path.
Step 8
Now it's time to explore the area that the Marquess's children named the 'West Indies'. Can you think why they gave it this name? Meander through the grassed area and look out for the new treehouse.
Step 9
Head back on the grassed area towards the cricket pavilion, where you’ll be able to enjoy the adventure playground in the woods on the left. Then follow the path back past the pavilion to the house, where you can enjoy a post-walk brew in the Old Dairy café.
