The café in the Grade I-listed manor serves a range of hot and cold drinks, light meals, snacks and cakes to keep you refreshed during your visit. Take a seat indoors or enjoy your cuppa in the outdoor seating area.
The café, which opened in July 2021, is housed in the Grade I-listed manor house, offering indoor seating for around 40 people.
The colour scheme takes inspiration from Sir Thomas Tresham himself. Original accounts from the 16th century show he purchased a range of paint pigments for his building work including yellows, greens and reds.
Historical research shows that Elizabethans used colour symbolically to represent their wealth and status, as well as religious faith.
The café offers a range of dishes, including light meals, sandwiches, homemade cakes and drinks. You can also try one of the local, seasonal recipes inspired by Lyveden, including sugar plum muffins and the autumnal treat of catshead crumble cake which uses catshead apples from the Lyveden orchard.
When you bring a reusable cup for your hot drinks, we’ll give you 25p off as a thank you for helping the environment and reducing the use of disposable cups. Please note that discount isn’t guaranteed at third-party food outlets.
Most of the food and drink served is prepared on site in our kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. As a result, we can’t guarantee that any of our food and drink products are completely allergen free.
If you have an allergy or intolerance and would like ingredient information about the food and drink served, please ask the staff, who will be happy to help.
Visited before? We sometimes change our recipes to improve quality and flavour, including the ingredients. When you visit, please speak to one of our team to check the current allergen information for your favourite dish.
You’re always welcome to bring a picnic and these can be enjoyed throughout Lyveden, other than within the café or on the outdoor café seating.
