Licensed for civil weddings
Our function room at the Estate Office is licensed for civil weddings. For more information email hafod@nationaltrust.org.uk
Dogs allowed
Dogs must be kept on leads around livestock and in the gardens, but can be off leads under control in the woodlands.

By road

Restored in the spirit of the original bridge, the bridge connects the north and south side of the valley.

Hawthorn Cottage
This traditional estate-worker’s cottage is full of Welsh character. It’s on the Hafod Estate with trails from the gate leading to waterfalls, gardens and spectacular views.
Abermydyr
The ultimate woodland retreat, this fairy-tale cottage nestles in the Aeron Valley.
Pontbrenmydyr
A delightful vernacular cottage with a little bit of history in all its nooks and crannies.

Mrs Johnes' Flower Garden sits at the heart of the Hafod Estate and once a month we get together to tidy and spruce up the garden. Please join us on this day if you'd like to help maintain this beautiful part of the site.

A visit to Hafod will take you through woodlands, past the Ystwyth valley's rocky gorges, into Mrs Johnes' Flower Garden all within one of the finest examples of a Picturesque landscape in Europe, the vision of its most celebrated owner, Thomas Johnes. Explore our waymarked trails on the five main walks within our 200 hectare estate near Aberystwyth.
Natural Resources Wales retain the management of the working forest for woodland management.
