Formby Beach Clean & Litter Pick

Calling all nature lovers, we need your help to clear the huge amounts of litter left behind. Your support will help protect all the wonderful wildlife that calls Formby home and create a safer space for people to enjoy. The team here dedicate countless hours litter picking across the site but we need your help to keep Formby special – your support will make a huge difference.

Volunteers will be provided with litter pickers, bin bags, and gloves, as well as receiving a safety briefing by National Trust Rangers about how to conduct a beach clean safely and efficiently. The task is suitable for people of all ages, though access to the beach can be difficult due to the dynamic nature of the coastline, meaning the soft sand can make wheelchairs and prams difficult to use. Dogs are welcome though must be under close control when litter picking, so careful thought must be taken if deciding to bring them.

Just a heads-up: parking is free for event volunteers on the day but we’re sorry we can’t promise a parking spot.

Car parks can get very busy and close at the weekends, particularly on warm sunny days. If you can, consider arriving on foot or by bike. If you’re driving, please aim to get here early.
