Opening up this peaceful corner of Dorset

White Mill offers visitors an insight into the patterns of a living and working community on a large country estate.

We are often looking for people to help out at this special place, to share the stories and heritage of the mill.

White Mill is only open on weekends and holidays, and our volunteers welcome visitors, offer tours throughout the day, and play a valuable role in safeguarding the interiors and collections.

We currently have a team of around 20 volunteers. Paul Jones is one of them:

'Every time I volunteer at the mill I learn something new, not just from the other volunteers, but also from the visitors.'

– Paul Jones, volunteer guide
