28 & 30 May (and various dates throughout the summer holidays). Join award-winning Wight Coast Fossils for guided walks at Compton Bay and discover evidence for dinosaurs once roaming the Island. Compton beach is one of the best places to encounter the Island’s rich geological past. During one of the walks, you'll learn more about this amazing history; have an opportunity to find fossilised bone, teeth and wood; and even see huge dinosaur foot casts laying on the beach. There's plenty to discover at our places this May half term (25 May – 2 June). At Bembridge Windmill you can try being a miller for the day. Dress up in a smock, check the wind speed and direction and see if it's the perfect day for making flour. At Newtown, we've family-friendly walks and activities that will help little ones discover all sorts of creepy crawlies, butterflies and flowers. Or over at the Needles, the secret rocket testing site at the New Battery will be open each Saturday (until 31 Aug).
