Residential and farm lettings
In addition to our hundreds of places that are open to the public, we have a wider estate of houses, cottages and farms available for tenants to let.
We let farms on our land to tenant farmers throughout the year. Opportunities don't come up that often, so you'll need to be quick if letting one of our farms appeals to you.
Stonethwaite Farm is a traditional Lakeland fell farm extending to circa 175.91 hectares including a four-bedroom farmhouse, two-bedroom holiday cottage, a range of both modern and traditional farm buildings and an existing campsite business. This farm to let includes the landlord’s Herdwick flock and common grazing rights.
Stonethwaite Farm will be let on a 15-year farm business tenancy from 29 September 2024.
This is an opportunity for a proactive tenant to work in partnership with us to develop a successful business based on high quality livestock, habitat and landscape management. It will also provide diversification opportunities.
You will need to complete a pre-viewing application form prior to potentially being invited to the viewing day.
You should download the pre-viewing application form or email northwestlettings@nationaltrust.org.uk and we can send you a form directly. Please return the application form by email no later than midday on Thursday 6 June 2024. We'll review applications and invite selected applicants to the viewing day, which will be Thursday 13 June 2024.
Following the viewing day, we'll provide further more detailed application and tender forms.
We won't accept future tenders from applicants who've not visited the farm on the viewing day.
The closing date for final applications and tenders is midday on Friday 12 July 2024.
