Dogs are welcome in our woodland and countryside. Please keep under control and on a lead when cattle and sheep are grazing. Assistance dogs only in house and gardens.

Situated on a plateau above the gorge of the River Severn, this fine stone house has mullioned and transomed windows, a stunning interior with carved oak staircase and decorated plaster ceilings and oak panelling.
The current house was built in 1535 but there have been Benthalls living on this site since the medieval period. During this time the house has been part of many interesting events from the Civil War to the Industrial Revolution.
In the garden there are fabulous crocus displays to be seen in the spring and autumn, there's also an intimate and carefully restored plantsman's garden, an old kitchen garden and interesting Restoration church.
Discover the history the Benthall family played in the Civil War, as being Royalists, the family supported King Charles I and this meant confronting the Parliamentarians.
Lights. Camera. Action! As well as providing the backdrop for a major Netflix drama series, Benthall Hall was also home to a successful Theatre Director who launched the careers of many well-loved actors.
