Cycling at Ickworth Estate

Located in the car park, the cycle hire hub has a variety of bikes for all ages, including trailers, balance bikes and electric bikes so the whole family can enjoy exploring the parkland, including your four-legged friends. You're welcome to bring your own bikes too, so pack a picnic and get planning your adventure.

Opening times

Spring/Summer:

1 March - 2 September 2024

Thursday to Sunday 10am - 4pm (last hire at 2pm). There may be closures for operational reasons, please check the opening times to check.

Suffolk school holidays open every day (except Christmas).

Cycle hire prices

  • Adult/Child Bikes: £6 for two hours or £12 all day
  • Balance bikes: £3
  • Trailers: £6 for two hours or £12 all day
  • Dog trailer: £6 for two hours or £12 all day
  • Electric 'e' Bikes: £14 for two hours and £7 for an additional hour.

The two seat trailers are ideal for little ones over 24 months old and up to a maximum height of 105cm and weight of 45kg, due to speed bumps in the park There's a handy boot space to store bags and picnics in the back of each trailer.

Good to know

We have put a variety of safety measures in place, to ensure you're able to make the most of your time with us:

  • All cycle equipment is cleaned before and after each use
  • If you have your own helmets, please bring them with you. We have helmets available as well
  • We recommend you wear protective gloves whilst cycling
  • Card payments only please.

Cycle hire is on a first come, first served basis. We cannot guarantee bikes will be available, however, we would suggest coming along earlier in the day to give you the best chance of hiring what you require.

We have adult and children's bikes, balance bikes and a limited number of trailers.

All-weather trail

Why not try out the all-weather trail at Ickworth? The route offers a 9km off-road path through Ickworth’s beautiful historic parkland, ideal for families wanting a safe environment to explore.

Experienced explorers

The multi-use trail provides smooth terrain whatever the weather, but if you fancy being more adventurous and want to decide your own route, our top quality bikes will get you there.
