A moderate guided walk exploring some of the Peak Districts’ most spectacular archaeological sites including Lord's Seat and Mam Tour Iron Age Hillfort.

This moderate guided walk explores some of the Peak Districts’ most spectacular archaeological sites. Beginning in Edale, the walk ascends the historic Chapel Gate path onto Rushup Edge, where it tracks East onto Mam Tor and the Great Ridge before descending back into Edale.
Our Walk Leaders will pause at Lords Seat, an ancient Bronze Age burial site, and Mam Tor Iron Age Hillfort to discuss their history and the essential restoration work currently underway to protect their important earthworks..
The walk is approximately 6.5 miles and includes a steep ascent, steps, and follows an uneven footpath. Dogs on leads are welcome but there may be some stiles.

Please meet at the Penny Pot Café by Edale railway station.
- What to bring and wear
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. Dogs on a lead are welcome.

This is a moderately challenging 6.5 mile and includes a steep ascent, steps, and follows an uneven footpath. Dogs on leads are welcome but there may be some stiles
