Newly converted Custom House is one in a row of cottages located in a stunning spot on Brownsea Island. Right at the water’s edge, the cottage has the sea lapping near the front door. Inside the single-storey house you’ll find a bright and modern space with contemporary furnishings.
After all the visitors go home make the most of having your very own island. Wander through woodland, explore the heathland and discover Brownsea Island’s magical lagoon.
Take a ferry to the Isle of Purbeck and discover a unique landscape with habitats ranging from dunes to sandy beaches, sheer cliffs to centuries old ruins.

Access: The island is accessible by ferry. A private National Trust ferry service runs from Poole Quay on a scheduled service for holiday guests four times a day. Parking is close by and is payable. Details will be provided soon after you have made your booking. Please note this is a temporary arrangement whilst work takes place on the Sandbanks jetty.
Luggage: Maximum weight of 15 kg for any item. There are steps on and off the boat service to the island and all luggage must be easy to transport. Holdalls, small bags and rucksacks are ideal. The boatmen may request that luggage be reduced in weight if too heavy, and that large cases be separated into smaller bags.
Island Facilities: Brownsea Island does not have a shop so you will need to bring food with you. There is a small café on the island, which is open during the day when the island is open from March to October, where you can buy hot food and drinks. You can check café opening times here.
Wifi: We’re pleased to provide free WiFi access at this accommodation, which is supported by BT. Please note intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and therefore should not be relied upon.
Heating: Eco electric radiators included.
Offers: Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage.
Free entry for cottage guests into the Dorset Wildlife Trust reserve on Brownsea Island.
Utilities/Electricals: There is no washing machine at this cottage.
Bicycles: We are sorry but no bicycles are allowed on the island.
