During wet weather the grass overflow has to close and cars park on hard standing. We then usually need several days of warm weather to dry the overflow out before reopening it.

On a lead at all times, not allowed in the house, shop, servery or first floor of tearoom or the play area off the Lime Avenue. You can now take your dog into the ground-floor seating area of the Brewhouse tea-room. We suggest you have min two people in your group so one can sit with the dog while the other orders. Assistance dogs welcome across the site.

Now that the reservoir project has ended, please be aware of deep water by the main bridge. Paths in the grounds are uneven at times. Woodland paths are difficult to navigate due to tree roots. Accessible toilets are located at the tea-room which is 1,200m from the car park.

Access to first floor in the house is via a staircase only and this has no handrail. In the woods the paths have tree roots coming across them in places and can get very muddy.

Parking: Parking is free. There is a 1/3 mile walk between visitor reception and the house. Blue badge parking is available. All parking is on hard standing.
Sat Nav: Will not take you to the main car park, instead follow National Trust brown signs and reach the visitor car park off Morgaston Road.
Basingstoke 4 miles - taxi rank available outside of train station. Bramley 2½ miles - requires a walk of 2½ miles from this station. Note: Vyne Road has no foot paths.

Uncover forgotten traces of history hidden in ancient woodland, including the remains of a medieval fish pond, on this relaxing circular walking route at The Vyne.
This gentle family-friendly walk at Morgaston Woods, is shorter than the mile-long yellow route but will still give you a healthy dose of the outdoors.
This 1 mile route will take you deeper into the woods than the short green route, while still forming a neat circular walk for you to go on and see other things afterwards.
Don’t miss outdoor cinema at The Vyne on the following dates: 1 Aug Pretty Woman (15), 2 Aug Grease sing-a-long (PG), 3 Aug The Greatest Showman sing-a-long (PG), 4 Aug Top Gun (the original one) (12). Gates open 7.45pm, films start 9.15pm. Music to enjoy before the movie with a soundtrack of specially curated songs. Hot food and snacks available, on-site bar, picnics and drinks welcome. Bring your own camping chair unless you’ve booked a VIP ticket.

Once an important Tudor palace, this atmospheric mansion has some illustrious connections, from Henry VIII to Jane Austen. Outside, acres of wildlife-rich gardens, meadows and woods create a wonderful space for relaxation and exploration, while the natural play space gives children freedom to let their imaginations take them on fantasy adventures. Sweeping lawns offer lakeside picnicking, and a short stroll reveals a cosy bird hide overlooking the water meadows.
Some of the rarest surviving 18th-century stained glass in the care of the National Trust has been fitted with environmental protective glazing. Known as ‘isothermic glazing’, this will protect it from the ravages of weathering intensified by the impact of increasing rainfall and heat from the sun.
