About The Canyack

Go back 150 years or so, and you’d find a Cornish miner living in this old stone cottage. It's now a cosy holiday cottage with low-beamed ceilings, wood-panelled walls and lots of character. It sits high on the slopes of the secluded Cot Valley, with glimpses of the ocean through tall pine trees.

You’ll be in the midst of the Tin Coast, a World Heritage site defined by Cornish mining history. A seven-mile stretch reveals remnants of the once-thriving mining industry, including the iconic Crown Engine Houses that cling to the cliffs. If you’re a Poldark fan, you’ll feel as if you have stepped into a scene from the BBC series, as many of the scenes were filmed here. Eight miles west of Penzance and on the edge of the moors, it's perfectly placed to visit the far west of Cornwall and close to the beautiful north coast,
