Step into the grand red-brick surroundings of the Stableyard where you will discover the café and shop. With its cobbles and warm enclosure, this is an ideal place to have a pit stop and refuel or browse the shelves in the shop. Don’t forget to drop by the second-hand bookshop in the west wing of the manor too.
The café serves a selection of sandwiches and soups, sausage rolls and pasties, jackets and one pots. Tuck into sweet treats, homemade cakes and traditional tray bakes including brownies and flapjack slices, all prepared in Hughenden's kitchen.
Enjoy coffee made with freshly ground beans and a full range of Clipper teas, soft drinks, Bensons apple juice and Luscombe sparkling fruit drinks. Wall’s ice creams and Jude’s ice cream tubs are available for the sweet-toothed.
There are children’s portions and kids’ lunchboxes for young explorers to choose their own sandwich, fruit and drink to fuel their adventures.
Many ingredients are locally sourced, and we use home-grown produce from the walled garden whenever we can. The menu changes regularly to reflect the seasons but National Trust favourites like cream teas, flapjacks and Victoria sponge are always available.
All drinks and food are available to take away if you prefer to snack and stroll or pick up supplies for a picnic.
Most of the food and drink served is prepared on site in our kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. As a result, we can’t guarantee that any of our food and drink products are completely allergen free.
If you have an allergy or intolerance and would like ingredient information about the food and drink served, please ask the staff, who will be happy to help.
