Donate

For more than 125 years, generations of people have helped us to look after nature, beauty and history. With your support we can continue this vital work, and preserve precious places for everyone, for ever.

Where will you make a difference?

Nature, wildlife and historic buildings are under threat but you can help protect what you love for future generations. Here are just some of the ways your donation can help us carry out vital conservation work at the places in our care. We can't do it without you.

Where the need is greatest

You’ve played a huge role in helping us get started on a £3.3 million project to restore the roof at Coughton Court. But there’s still so much to do – and that’s where you come in. As part of the ‘Through the Roof’ project, we’ll protect bat roosts that have been here for many years. We’ll also create a future-friendly environment by reducing the amount of water getting into the building, and using bat-safe materials to help our resident species thrive.

The Coast

Thanks to supporters like you, we’re embarking on a project to transform a former golf course into a larger habitat at Sandilands, Lincolnshire, creating a year-round nature experience for everyone.

Gardens

Since autumn 2022, you've helped us restore the garden at Prior Park, Somerset. The team has planted nearly 4,000 trees, shrubs and ferns to populate the new shrubberies and recreate the original garden. Together we’ve achieved so much, but there’s still lots to be done. And that’s why we need your help.

Nature and wildlife

At Holnicote, Somerset, 300 water voles have been reintroduced since 2019, and shortly after beavers were introduced. The beavers are doing well and have produced kits to expand the family, but we can’t stop there. Wildlife is under threat, and we need more donations to keep making a difference to nature.

Buildings and collections

With your support, the team at the Royal Oak Foundation Conservation Studio has been able to carry out conservation treatment on two portrait paintings from Knole, Kent. Painted by Sir Joshua Reynolds, one of the major European painters of the 18th century, your donations have helped preserve these important pieces of art for generations to come.

Plant a Tree

Over 125 years ago we set out to open up the natural world so everyone could explore vibrant green spaces like parks, woodlands and the countryside. Trees breathe life into our world, and it's vital we plan for the future of woodlands so we can tackle climate change, together.

Plant a Tree

Trees provide vital habitats for a range of wildlife and are one of the best natural defences against climate change. This is why we're aiming to plant and establish 20 million trees by 2030. Donate to Plant a Tree and make a difference.

Fix The Fells Appeal

The Lake District is a popular place to visit, but this means the footpaths become eroded which, along with weather events and climate change means the fells are in need of repair. Money from this appeal will directly improve this unique UNESCO World Heritage landscape.
