As part of National Lottery Open Week 2025, we're offering free entry to many places in our care to National Lottery players between 15–23 March. As a charity, we want to say thank you to the lottery players who've made so much of our conservation work possible.

Discover something new

There are plenty of adventures to be had at the places we look after. Discover family-friendly things to do on the Wimpole Estate in Cambridgeshire, or explore Chirk Castle near Wrexham. You can visit the Apprentice House at Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire, or the historic 19th-century Rowallane Garden in County Down.

There are dramatic natural structures at Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim to take in, or you can soak up some history at Chedworth Roman Villa in Gloucestershire. Plus, if you’re a National Trust member and have bought a National Lottery ticket, you can bring a friend with you for free and explore somewhere together.

What you need to bring when visiting

To take part in this offer, you need to show one National Lottery ticket (physical or digital), scratchcard or instant win ticket per adult to get free entry at the visitor reception of participating places between 15–23 March 2025. You can use the ticket or scratchcard no matter when you bought it, plus up to four under-18s can accompany a lottery ticket holder for free.

Whether you're exploring places in our care for the first time, or already a National Trust member, you can have a day out for yourself, or bring along your family and friends.

Please note that not all places we care for are taking part in National Lottery Open Week 2025. Whilst you can visit many of our places without booking, some of our smaller houses and gardens do require booking in advance. Please check for booking information on a place's website before you visit.

Visit the National Lottery website to find out where you can explore for free.

Thank you to all of the National Lottery players

The National Lottery raises over £30 million for good causes every week. They're the largest cumulative funder of our work since 1994, providing over £150 million for our projects and making a huge impact on our ambitions and funding vital work. Players have allowed us to care for historic buildings and objects, maintain rivers and coastline and look after wildlife-rich environments. We'd like to extend our thanks to every player who takes part in the National Lottery, and we look forward to welcoming you during Open Week at one of the places we look after.

Every day we welcome thousands of visitors who share our passion for experiencing the great outdoors, marvelling at a masterpiece or nurturing our wildlife. To ensure that this is something future generations can enjoy requires significant funding. Since 1994, National Lottery funding has been supporting vital projects around the country.
