In the dramatic Langdale valley, a natural playground of trails, summits, waterfalls and small lakes, all accessible on foot.
There are 120 informal pitches scattered across the camping meadows. In the booking system, select the size of pitch you need and you'll choose your own spot from those available when you check in. In your booking, let us know if you need room for a gazebo, mess tent or pup tent. Cars are parked away from the camping fields in the car park so everyone can enjoy the valley and mountain views.
We welcome campervans and motorhomes up to 6.5m in length, as well as roof tents. There are hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up in various locations around the site. Please read the descriptions in the booking system carefully to choose the one that's right for you. We also have space for a few campervans without electric hook-up in the parking area. You can book a space online, and then choose your spot from those available on arrival. Sorry, the site isn't suitable for caravans of any size.
There are two types of pod at Great Langdale - three Regular Pods and six Plus Pods. They all have a few simple comforts - a soft floor, heat, light and sockets. Think of a pod as a replacement for your tent, and bring all your other camping gear, including sleeping bags, a sleeping mat if you'd like to place it on top of the mattress provided, pots and pans, a stove and camping chairs. They have glass doors opening onto a small deck. The pods are not dog friendly, and guests staying in a pod are not allowed to bring dogs to the campsite. If you would like to bring your dog, please book a camping pitch and bring a tent or campervan.
These pods are one room and have floor mattresses that can be folded up to become seating. They sleep up to two adults and one child. No dogs.
Plus Pods have a front and back section. The front section has two benches with mattresses, which can be used as seating in the day and single beds at night. There is storage space under the benches and hooks to hang equipment. The back section also has floor mattresses, which can be folded up for extra seating. Plus Pods sleep two adults plus two children, or a maximum of three adults. No dogs.
