National Trust app FAQ

• Will the app work on my particular mobile or tablet?

  The National Trust mobile app is designed to work on the following:

  • Apple iPhone and iPad running iOS 13 and above
  • Most Android phones running Android 6 and above

• Why can I no longer find the My Places feature on the app?

  Unfortunately, due to a major upgrade of our internal systems, we’ve had to remove the My Places feature.

• Where are the Scottish listings?

  The National Trust and The National Trust for Scotland have reciprocal agreements for members, but are separate organisations. Because of this, we only show places in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on our app.

• Why does the app want me to share my location?

  The app uses your location to display National Trust places and events near you. It'll also remind you to check the app when you're at a National Trust place, so that you can see what's happening there on that particular day.

• What if I don't want to share my location?

  That's OK, too. You can find places and events near you and nationwide by using the search function. You can search by a number of different categories, including

  • Area (e.g. the Lake District)
  • Region (e.g. Cornwall)
  • Town/city (e.g. Derby)
  • Postcode (e.g. YO21)
  • National Trust place (e.g. Castle Coole)

• Where can I see a map of all the National places? 

  In the Discover section of the app, swipe down a short distance and then click on the Map button at the top of the screen. This will take you to a map that's centred on your location. From the map, you can toggle back to List view.

• Where can I find a list of all the places?

  In the Search bar, you can find any National Trust place by typing the first few letters of its name.

• Some of the distances specified are less than the actual driving distance

  The distances specified in the Discover stream are measured 'as the crow flies', to provide an indication of National Trust places' relative distance. For accurate distance information, go to the Directions section of the place you want to visit, and use the link to your device's map service (for example: Apple Maps or Google Maps).
