A wood-burning stove, characterful stone walls and less than a mile from beautiful Fountains Abbey.
18th-century Lapwing Cottage originally housed livestock on the ground floor whilst the upstairs was used as a granary. The cottage is bursting with character and boasts stone walls, exposed beams and a wood-burning stove.
Situated less than a mile from the world-famous Fountains Abbey, spend the morning exploring this fascinating site for free, before enjoying a stroll in the nearby deer park.
A short drive away from the cottage, seasoned walkers are spoilt for choice. Take on a mighty moorland hike on the North Yorkshire Moors, or opt for a gentler meander on the Dales.
Lapwing is next to four other National Trust cottages, Swallow (sleeps 6), Curlew (sleeps 6), Lark (sleeps 4) and Wren (sleeps 2).
