Last entry to site and house is 4:30pm (Feb - October). The property will be closed on Friday 13, Monday 16, and Tuesday 17 September for driveway resurfacing. We will be open on the weekend in between the works, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September. By road
1½ miles north of High Wycombe; on the west side of Valley Road. From the M40 exit 4, take the A404 towards High Wycombe, follow signs to Eden shopping centre, then take the A4128 towards Great Missenden. Follow the brown signs.
Parking: Included in admission charge. Follow signs to main car park which will open at 10.00am. Entrance to car park locked at 4.30pm. Disabled spaces available.

On foot
1½ miles from High Wycombe. Hughenden is crossed by a number of footpaths. It is possible to walk from High Wycombe and a number of the surrounding villages. If walking from High Wycombe, it is possible to walk down the Valley Road, or across the parkland. Follow signs to the Visitor Reception on arrival. See OS Maps for footpath maps.
By train
High Wycombe train station is just under 2 miles from Hughenden, or alternatively the Arriva Service X9 bus can be taken from the bus station on Bridge Street, which is about a half-mile walk from the train station. A short taxi ride from the station (about 12 mins) saves a steep walk up the hill from the bus stop if you arrive by bus.
By bus
Redline 300 buses stop at the bottom of the drive to Hughenden; there is a steep walk to the house up the hill.
By bicycle
There are no cycle paths to Hughenden, please use the road directions.

Red brick manor set in the Chiltern Hills. Former home to Benjamin Disraeli and a secret World War Two operation. Last entry to the manor is 4:30pm.
Garden
Formal Italianate-style gardens with Victorian parterre and classical statuary. Pleasure grounds, apple orchard and walled garden. Gardens close at 5pm.
Parkland
Open parkland with beech, oak and chestnut, soaring kites and resident cows. Parish church with Disraeli's grave. Rare chalk stream.

Over 600 acres of woodland and farmland set in the Chiltern Hills, with sweeping views over the surrounding countryside.

Stableyard shop filled with gifts, homeware, books, local produce and seasonal plants. Second-hand bookshop in the West Wing.

Three colour-coded waymarked walks can help you discover more of the estate, from a gentle one-mile stroll to a two-mile route, beginning from the visitor welcome kiosk.

About Hughenden
Set in an unspoiled Chiltern valley with views of ancient woodlands and rolling hills, Hughenden offers a restful retreat from the pressures of everyday life, just as it did for Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, and his wife Mary Anne. Outside, the surrounding views of the parkland invite you to explore the estate, following picturesque walking trails that take in the historic landscape of the Chiltern beech woods. In contrast to the exotic trees on the North Lawn, the Italianate formal gardens showcase annual beds full of the bold colours the Disraelis loved. Inside the manor, you can discover the top-secret Second World War operation codenamed ‘Hillside’.
