Total steps: 5
Total steps: 5
Start point
Porth National Trust car park, near St Anthony, Portscatho, Truro TR2 5EX.
Step 1
For the full walk in a clockwise direction follow steps 1 to 5 in order. To do the shorter creekside section only see step 5 (taking the path signposted Riverside Footpath Place Quay, first right out of the lower car park). Full trail: At Porth, turn right opposite the Thirstea Café, below the entrance to the higher car park. Walk down the lane past holiday cottages on both sides and the lower car park on the right. Ignore the first right-hand turning in to the woods waymarked 'Riverside Footpath Place Quay' (you will return via this track).
Step 2
Go past the thatched holiday cottage on your left and head up the hill. The track will incline along the edge of the woods. At the top of the track you will reach a gateway. Here you can look out across Porth Creek. Take a slight left as the track continues a little further uphill.
Step 3
Follow the boundary of farmland on your left, and creek-side meadow on your right. If you look down, you can see the track you will return on.
Step 4
Enter the woods and follow a bendy, slalom path down through the woods towards the creek. Turn right at the waymarker to Porth.
Step 5
Keep the creekside water (which may just be a muddy stream, depending on the tides) on your left. Follow it back along the bottom of the meadow until you reach the lower car park.
End point
Porth National Trust car park, St Anthony, Portscatho, Truro TR2 5EX.
