• Terms and conditions for the Summer Raffle 2024

  Entry conditions

  1. To be eligible to purchase a Raffle Ticket, or to return a Golden Ticket, you must:
     1. be 18 years of age or over;
     2. be located in Great Britain;
     3. not be an employee of the National Trust or Woods Group Limited; and
     4. comply with these terms and conditions.
  2. A Raffle Ticket will be entered into the Summer Raffle 2024 if:
     1. an application for such Raffle Ticket is received by us before the Closing Date; and
     2. payment for such application is received by us before the Closing Date.
  3. All players who return tickets with the Golden Ticket before the Closing Date will be entered into the Golden Ticket Draw, for the chance of winning one of five £250 prizes.
  4. Each Raffle Ticket will be sold for £1.
  5. We may, at our sole discretion, refuse to sell a Raffle Ticket to any person without giving reasons.
  6. A Raffle Ticket may not be transferred from a person listed as the owner of the respective Raffle Ticket on our records to another person.
  7. We’ll process your personal data securely to manage your entry into the Raffle. It’ll be shared with Woods Valldata, who manage the raffle draw on our behalf. We’ll also use your data to send you the information you’ve requested (if relevant). We won’t use your details for marketing communications that you haven’t agreed to receive. Should you change your mind about whether to receive that information from us or how you’re contacted by us for marketing purposes, let us know by calling on 0344 800 1895. Please see our privacy policy for more information on how we look after your personal information. ‘We’ and ‘us’ mean the National Trust, charity number 205846, and National Trust (Enterprises) Limited.

  Underage purchases

  8. By purchasing a Raffle Ticket and entering the Golden Ticket Draw, you confirm that you’re 18 years or older at the date when you purchased the Raffle Ticket or entered the Golden Ticket Draw. If we determine that a Ticket Holder is under the age of 18 at the date the Raffle Ticket was purchased or the Golden Ticket returned, the Ticket Holder won’t be entitled to any Prize and we’ll return to the Ticket Holder the amount paid by them for the Raffle Ticket(s).
  9. We reserve the right to verify the age of any person seeking to purchase a Raffle Ticket or a Ticket Holder, at any time (including after a Raffle Ticket has been purchased), by requesting such proof of age as we may require.

  Payment

  10. By purchasing or attempting to purchase a Raffle Ticket, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  11. Payment by post: payment for a Raffle Ticket can be made by cheque, or by credit or debit card. Charities Aid Foundation vouchers or other charity vouchers can't be accepted as payment for Raffle Tickets. Please don’t send cash.
  12. We accept no responsibility if the chosen method of payment is cancelled by you, your bank, or credit or debit card provider.
  13. A person may not purchase more than £100 of Raffle Tickets unless approved by us upon special request. For approval, please contact the Fundraising Manager.

  Postal entries

  14. For postal entries, Raffle Ticket stubs must be completed and Golden Ticket (if applicable) sent directly with the payment slip and entry form to: Freepost RUGJ-AHUY-THHS, National Trust Summer Raffle 2024, Bumpers Way, Bumpers Farm, Chippenham, SN14 6NG.
  15. If you’re purchasing a Raffle Ticket(s) for yourself, use the free address labels included in your pack on the ticket stub(s). If you’re buying the whole book, you can just use one of the labels on the first ticket stub of each book.
  16. If you’re purchasing a Raffle Ticket(s) for another person by post, you need to include that person’s details on the Raffle Ticket stub(s) when you return them.
  17. No responsibility is taken for any Raffle Ticket, Golden Ticket or payment which is lost, delayed, or damaged in the post. Proof of posting won't be accepted as proof of receipt.
  18. Entry for the Summer Raffle 2024 isn't available for telephone entries. 

  Closing date

  19. The Closing Date for the Summer Raffle 2024 and the Golden Ticket Draw is 23:59 on 30 August 2024.
  20. Applications for Raffle Tickets or entries to the Golden Ticket Draw received after the Closing Date won’t be entered into the Summer Raffle 2024 or the Golden Ticket Draw as applicable. 
  21. Any payment for Raffle Tickets received after the Closing Date will be treated as a donation to us unless you expressly state otherwise on your application for such Raffle Ticket(s), for example by writing on the Raffle Tickets you send to us. If payment is received after the Closing Date, Raffle Tickets won't be purchased or entered into the Summer Raffle 2024.

  The draw

  22. The Summer Raffle 2024 Draw will take place on 6 September 2024 at The Woods Group Limited, Bumpers Way, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN14 6NG.
  23. Raffle Tickets for the Summer Raffle 2024 Draw will be drawn randomly.
  24. The result of the Summer Raffle 2024 Draw is final.

  The prizes

  25. The Ticket Holder of the first Raffle Ticket drawn will receive £10,000 cash. This will be referred to as the ‘First Prize’. 
  26. The Ticket Holder of the second Raffle Ticket drawn will receive £1,000 cash.
  27. The Ticket Holder of the third Raffle Ticket drawn will receive £500 cash.
  28. The Ticket Holders of the subsequent 10 Raffle Tickets drawn will each receive a £25 National Trust gift card. National Trust gift cards can be redeemed at our shops, tea-rooms, restaurants and the online shop. They can also be used as payment or part-payment for admission to any place in our care open for a fee. Read the full National Trust gift card terms and conditions for more information.
  29. The Golden Ticket Holders of the first 5 Golden Tickets drawn will each receive £250.

  Payment of prizes

  30. The person who wins the First Prize will be notified by telephone where possible. All other winners of Prizes will be notified in writing, including the winners of the Golden Ticket Draw. Winners will be notified within seven days of the draw date.
  31. All Prizes are non-transferable and no alternatives will be provided.
  32. A complete list of winners of Prizes will be available from 20 September 2024 by calling our Supporter Services Centre on 0344 800 1895 (local call charges apply), or by visiting our website. 
  33. We reserve the right to request proof of identity from any person who claims a Prize.
  34. A person shall not be eligible to receive a Prize if they don’t satisfy the criteria at Clause 1 (i.-iv.)
  35. We reserve the right to withhold or refuse payment of any Prize if we have reasonable grounds to believe that these terms and conditions have been breached in any way.
  36. If a Prize is transferred to a person who is not eligible to receive the Prize, the Prize shall be repayable or returned (as applicable) by that person to us on demand.
  37. By entering the Summer 2024 Raffle and Golden Ticket Draw, if you win a Prize you agree to us using your first name and home county on our website and other channels to promote the raffles we operate.

  Unclaimed prizes

  38. All Prizes must be claimed no later than 180 days from the date of the Draw.
  39. Any Prizes which remain unclaimed after 180 days from the date of the Draw shall be forfeited and donated to us.

  Responsible gambling

  40. We provide the right to self-exclude.
  41. You may request to be excluded from all raffles operated by us.
  42. If you wish to self-exclude, you can:
      1. follow the self-exclusion procedure in the Raffles section of our website or 
      2. contact our Supporter Service Centre by calling us on 0344 800 1895 or by email.
  43. If you elect to self-exclude, you may not purchase our Raffle Tickets for the period of self-exclusion and won’t be sent any related marketing.
  44. At the end of the self-exclusion period, you may request to purchase further Raffle Tickets (and receive marketing materials) by contacting our Supporter Service Centre on 0344 800 1895.

  Limitation of liability

  45. Subject to Clause 47, the liability of us to any Ticket Holder shall be limited to the amount of any Prize(s) which is due to that Ticket Holder or Golden Ticket Holder.
  46. Subject to Clause 47, we shall not be liable:
      1. to any person for our inability to contact you and/or award any Prize due to any errors or omissions in the details you provide or your failure to update these details if they change;
      2. for any interest of whatever nature claimed by person in a lost or stolen Raffle Ticket or Golden Ticket;
      3. any matter beyond our reasonable control.
  47. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for:
      1. death or personal injury resulting from negligence;
      2. fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
      3. any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

  Complaints

  48. You can read our raffles complaints procedure on our website.
  49. If for any reason you aren’t satisfied with how we’ve resolved your complaint, you may decide that the matter be referred for adjudication by the Independent Betting Adjudication Service ('IBAS'). IBAS can be contacted via their website, by emailing them or calling 020 7347 5883.

  Governing law

  52. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England.
  53. Subject to your right to use an alternative dispute resolution provider as set out at Clause 49, each party agrees that the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with this agreement or its subject matter or formation.
