Get into the festive spirit
From wreath-making workshops and carol concerts to winter illuminations, find Christmas days out near you.
This year, Tyntesfield will transport you to a 'Christmas Past' with decorations in the house that take inspiration from each room, reflecting how the rooms were used by those that called Tyntesfield their home. Tyntesfield will welcome new additions to their programme, such as a Carousel in front of the house, and a Dickensian street scene in the chapel courtyard. Familiar favourites, such as chapel concerts, Christmas trails and craft workshops will also return to provide something for everyone.
Please note that you do not need to book for General Admission to the House.

There'll be decorations under the theme of Christmas Past from 2 December 2024 to 2 January 2025 across Tyntesfield Estate.
Decorations will feature a combination of inventive community sourced art installations which are being developed in partnership with SuperCulture, in collaboration with five local community groups.
Other creative displays are being masterminded by the collections team, the gardens & outdoors team and volunteers, to deliver a fully immersive, inside and out experience, for all visitors.
The house will be full of decorations inspired by the way each room was used by those that lived there. You can expect literary decorations in the library, culinary decorations in the dining room, an interactive Christmas treat in the kitchen.
Outside, the aviary will be decorated using inspiration from winter scenes. Large sculptural trees will fill the orangery and the chapel courtyard will be transformed into a Dickensian street market complete with festive refreshments.
There will of course be lots in store for our younger visitors, who can ride on the carousel in front of Tyntesfield House, take part in a festive trail through the house, and explore the estate with our Christmas reindeer trail.
The shop will be open and is filled to the rafters with beautiful gifts, stocking fillers and treats for the table on Christmas Day. We'll be managing numbers inside to keep everyone safe, so if your trip is shopping focused, we'd suggest planning your visit for the afternoon when things are a little quieter.
