This talk explores the untold narratives of the communities who lived and thrived in the city, shedding light on their experiences, challenges, and contributions. Drawing on our extensive curatorial research, we will delve into how venues like the Assembly Rooms served as an important platform for championing people of colour and acted as an early celebration of black talent.
