Housing Problems, shot in East London, is a short film made with residents who were living in poor housing and were rehoused in new purpose-built housing in 1935. Cathy Come Home is a BBC TV play about homelessness in the early ‘60s. The film locations feature back-to-back housing in Hockley, Birmingham. It was instrumental at the time in raising consciousness about homelessness. Directed by Ken Loach.
