Cornwall College Art Exhibition

Botallack Count House is hosting an exhibition of experimental artwork by students from Cornwall College FE Art and Design, organised by the National Trust and facilitated by internationally acclaimed artist Peter Ward.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event

Students from Pool Campus have completed a final major project exploring ethics and global concerns. As part of their enrichment they took part in a masterclass, foraging and creating their own pigments and paints using the abundance of mining waste in our heritage landscape.

Students learnt about the importance and international impact of our local mining heritage, looking at the sustainability and ethics around taking from the land and how to do this in a mindful and respectful manner.

The work is inspired by the way in which we harness our landscape to express our deep connection with Cornwall and follows techniques used by Peter in his artwork.
