Festival of Archaeology - Kingston Lacy Medieval Manor talk

Join National Trust Archaeologist, Martin Papworth for a 1.5 hour talk and short walk on the fascinating history the Medieval Manor which was located in front of where Kingston Lacy house stands today.

As part of the Council of British Archaeology’s Festival of Archaeology, this talk will explore the fascinating history of the Medieval Manor of Kingston Lacy, now lost below the ground in front of the current house. The Manor was part of an extensive royal estate from the Saxon period and was granted to a number of important and influential families over the centuries.

Experienced National Trust Archaeologist, Martin Papworth has spent much of his career working on Badbury Rings and the Kingston Lacy estate so can enthral with first-hand stories and experience. The talk will be in the Entrance Hall of Kingston Lacy House and will last approximately one hour with time for questions, followed by a short walk to the Manor site.

Pre-booking is essential.

Please note this ticket does not include the normal admission fee to Kingston Lacy. You will need to pay for entry or scan your membership at Visitor Reception. If you are a member, please have your membership card ready to be scanned. If you are a non-member, please note you will need to pay £19 (or gift aid £21) for admission to the property.

What to bring and wear

Seating will be provided for the talk, but please wear appropriate footwear and clothing as the walk will cross uneven grass terrain.
