Are you ready to discover a hidden world?

Dive into the mysterious world of marine creatures and join our Nature Engagement Officer, Dr Cliff Henry as he leads a GIANT rockpooling adventure in the bays of Port Ganny, running as part of our Summer of Play programme.

Delve into the rockpools and discover some of the wonderful creatures that call Northern Ireland's only UNESCO World Heritage Site their home.

National Trust Members and Local Pass Holders gain free access. Online booking is strongly recommended.

Ticket price includes the full Visitor Experience; access to guided tours with our award-winning storytelling team, use of hand-held audio guides, access to exhibition and interpretation areas, shop, café, use of all facilities, and reserved on-site parking.

Suitable for families

Meeting point

Meet Dr Cliff at the Visitor Meeting Point within the Visitor Centre, before venturing down the Blue Trail to Port Ganny.

What to bring and wear

Please wear outdoor clothing suitable for the weather on the day and sturdy walking shoes/footwear for clambering over rocks. Participants will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Accessibility

Rockpooling will take place in Port Ganny, off the Blue Trail. Please be aware that a bus also travels this route; pedestrians must stay on the path when the bus is in operation. The Blue Trail also has some steep inclines. Participants will need to clamber over rocks to use nets in the rockpools, however wildlife can be viewed in basins on the footpath if requested.

Other

A limited number of nets will be provided, however if you have your own, feel free to bring it with you! The Giant's Causeway Visitor Experience is fully dog friendly, with dogs on leads welcome throughout all indoor and outdoor areas. Please be aware that the Causeway stones are slippery when wet; please heed the advice of staff.
