Join Jen Farrar - BSBI Botanical SKills Officer, Northern Ireland, for the BSBI New Year Plant Hunt (NYPH) at Murlough National Trust NNR from 10.30am to approximately 14.00pm on New Year's Day, Wednesday 1 January.
The meeting place is the National Trust Car park (NT Main Car park) on the Dundrum Road towards Newcastle. This car park is free for NT members, you will need your NT membership card to get a free ticket. For non-members the parking fee is £5.
We will be looking for any wild or naturalised plant that is flowering over the New Year period, you might be surprised how many there are, and recording the details as part of the NYPH Citizen Science project. Our route will be focussed in the southern end of Murlough NNR, and we will be walking through ancient dune heathland, mature dunes, the foreshore and grey dunes.
