The Vox Set at Mussenden: Joshua Burnside
The phenomenal JOSHUA BURNSIDE brings his unique brand of alt-folk magic to the iconic Mussenden Temple for the final intimate Vox Set session of 2024.
- Booking essential
After three incredible summer concerts at the iconic Mussenden Temple, the final Vox Set concert of 2024 is now upon us.
Rounding out the second series of intimate performances is the phenomenal alt-folk singer-songwriter Joshua Burnside.
An experimental artist, Joshua takes influence from alternative electronica as well as Irish and Scottish folk, chopping and blending them with a mixture of found sounds, world music and unorthodox production methods.
Labelled one of the best songwriters of the modern day, Joshua brings his unique brand of folk magic to the north coast this November for a performance like no other.
The 200-year-old walls of the beautiful historic venue will be filled with a blend of euphoric and melancholic numbers, but never a dull moment in-between.
About the artist:
Born and raised in Northern Ireland, Joshua Burnside’s musical style has been compared to that of Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, and Tom Waits, all of whom he has noted as personal inspirations. His first album - 'Ephrata' - took in lush landscapes, technological horrors, night terrors and wistful Columbian vistas set against a bed of Irish folk, cumbia rhythms and electronica, and took home the Best Album award at the NI Music Prize 2017.
His second - 'Into The Depths Of Hell' - took a far darker approach, melding swirls of clanging metallic found sounds, alt-rock and Irish songwriting traditions. His forthcoming third album, shortly to be announced.
