Step back in time and explore below stairs on this new experience at Belton House, offering a unique insight into the history of food at Belton. Discover more about the global ingredients used, how they arrived at Belton, and how meals were prepared here up to 1870.

Enjoy an immersive and interactive experience, with the opportunity to discover basement rooms and collection items not usually out on display. The tour will last 30 minutes, and our knowledgeable volunteers will be available afterwards for any questions.

Please note, no food or drink can be taken into the mansion and this experience doesn’t include food. If the experience whets your appetite, we’d recommend stopping by the Stables Café for a tasty refreshment.

Pre-bookable tour slots are running at 11am, 12pm, and 2pm. Some tickets are kept aside for walk-ins.

Further tour slots are available at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, and 2.30pm – please book for these times on arrival.

We are opening the basements while the upstairs of the mansion will be closed to decorate for Christmas, between 4 - 22 Nov. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Spotlight on Conservation will be running in the basement and between Thursday – Monday, Food for Thought will be running. Christmas in the Mansion will open daily, 23 November - 5 January from 11am - 3.30pm (last entry 3pm).
