Art classes with Paul Robbens at Greys Court

A unique opportunity to learn and develop artistic skills within a charming series of walled gardens, on a site with over 900 years of history.

  • Booking essential

There’s something to discover around every corner at Greys Court and with the guidance of an established local artist, Paul Robbens, you’ll explore the gardens and architecture of this National Trust property through sketching and painting.

In his classes, Paul provides a variety of exercises and prompts which encourage a fresh perspective and invite participants to focus on details, such as the unique brickwork of a building. Paul enthusiastically shares techniques for working with pencil and watercolour paints, along with the occasional anecdote from his rich career as an art teacher and prop creator.

Morning and afternoon sessions are available on Wednesdays throughout July and September. The cost is £30 per session, all materials and light refreshments are provided. Spaces are limited to provide a tailored experience, making this event suitable for seasoned painters and beginners alike.

There is a discount if you would like to attend a full day which will include both sessions, the total cost is £55. Please contact claire.holland2@nationaltrust.org.uk for details of how to book at this discounted rate.

Please note: classes on 3 July will be held at Nuffield Place, a nearby National Trust site boasting beautiful, intimate gardens. This is due to Greys Court being closed for essential maintenance.
