A guided walk with lots of little known historical facts about the countryside around Guildford

Starting at Millmead Lock, this walk goes up the Mount and follows the Hog’s Back track to the A31, then descends the hill to the south, turning right at the bottom for Watts Gallery and refreshments/comfort break. From Watts Gallery we head towards the back of the Loseley estate to Millmead lock along the Wey Navigation. 7 miles (4 hours). Bring a packed lunch,or you can buy food at Watts Gallery

Meeting point

Meet at Millmead Lock behind the Yvonne Arnaud theatre in Guildford. (There are no toilets at the start of the walk)

What to bring and wear

We advise wearing boots

Accessibility

We immediately go up the Mount out of Guildford which is a steep climb and then onto a rough path at the top. There is also a rough path downwards and a stile.
