Join us for a Waxcap Fungi Walk through Chirk Castle's estate to discover these vibrant, colourful fungi. Chirk is a designated SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) renowned for its rare and beautiful Waxcaps, which thrive on ancient grasslands. During this leisurely stroll through the fields, we’ll explore and admire the various types of Waxcap fungi in their natural habitat. Each tour typically lasts between 1 and 1.5 hours.
Please note, this is not a fungi identification or foraging walk, but a chance to experience the stunning Waxcaps in their natural habitat.
Places are limited, so be sure to visit the ticket office upon arrival to secure your spot. Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
