Eco photography workshop: Anthotypes with SILT
Create beautiful prints from sunlight and colours extracted from plants in this family friendly workshop.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
On World Photography Day make an anthotype with us at Lacock, with SILT (Sustainable Image Lab, Trowbridge).
This lo-fi eco photographic process uses sunlight and colours extracted from plants to create images. Come and take part in this drop-in workshop exploring parts of the anthotype process; we’ll be making emulsions (light sensitive paints) from scratch, coating papers and exposing prints throughout the day. You can make photographic paper to take away, prepare a print for exposure or reveal a print composed by a previous participant. Drop in between 10.30am and 3.30pm, this event is included in cost of admission with no need to book. SILT is a studio and research project investigating ecologically sound materials and methods within visual art such as eco analogue photography, botanical ink making and natural dyes. SILT holds regular workshops and exhibitions and is run by artists Anna Chrystal Stephens and Alison Ballance.
