Robert Adam - Guided Tour
Join our amazing volunteers for a peek behind the scenes whilst Croome is closed for a while!
- Booking essential
- Free event (admission applies)
We are running two tours entitled “Robert Adam at Croome” and “Pages from Nature” during our closed period that will bring some of Croome’s fabulous history to life: From amazing restoration projects to a dedication to craftsmanship, and an evolving landscape these tours will allow you behind the scenes access whilst the team are busy with important conservation projects.
The two tours are 45 minutes each, we will be running two of each a day and they are ground floor only. They will be led by one guide and the maximum number of people per tour is 20 excluding the guide.
The two tours focus on two different topics; “Robert Adam at Croome” and “Pages from Nature” the first exploring the masterful talent of Robert Adam and his enduring friendship with the 6th Earl of Coventry as well as his collaboration with Capability Brown.
The second explores the incredible work of William Dean in his documentation of Croome’s wonderful landscape and discusses how it was second only to Kew Gardens with its’ variety of flowers and plants. We also discuss the staggering work that has gone on since the NT bought back the grounds and the remarkable restoration project thereafter
