Summer of Play at Hanbury Hall
Join us for a jam-packed summer of games and activities in the gardens at Hanbury Hall from Saturday 20 July - Sunday 8 September.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Bring all the family along for a jam-packed Summer of Play at Hanbury Hall. Step back in time to the Victorian era, inspired by fetes held by Sir Harry and Lady Georgina Vernon. The couple held a fete in June every year for the local community to attend. They also hosted a large garden party to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1911 and invited the whole village.
The gardens will be transformed into a summer fete style experience, with a riot of bunting, bell tents, hay bales, and giant Victorian characters.
Explore six different play zones across the gardens, with games including a racetrack and traditional fayre games on the Orangery Lawn, bowls on the historic bowling green, and a stage and dress up in the Front Park.
Join in activities including circus skills and crafts and have your face painted (timings of activities coming soon).
Meet historic reenactors dressed in their Victorian finery as they bring Hanbury Hall’s past to life.
Relax and unwind in our quiet zones in the orchards filled with hammocks, deckchairs and yoga mats.
Summer of Play is sponsored by Starling Bank.
