‘He saw quite clearly for a moment a vision of a wide, dark expanse at night, with a fresh wind blowing, and in the midst a lonely figure.’
‘Whistle and I’ll Come to You’ tells the tale of a young professor who, whilst walking in an English coastal village, stumbles upon a strange whistle. When blown, this sets in motion a chain of unexpected events...
Join us in the Great Hall at Hanbury and watch this candlelit performance against the backdrop of James Thornhill’s wall paintings. The performance will begin at 7pm and will be followed by a hot drink of your choice, and a slice a cake or bake* in the Courtyard Kitchen restaurant.
In this one man show, Toby Burchell performs this chilling tale by the finest writer of the ghost story genre, M.R. James. Originally narrated by James himself as an entertainment for friends, these are the perfect traditional ghost stories.
Following sold out performances at Malvern Theatres, the show will now tour theatres and historic houses in autumn and winter 2024.
Seating is allocated on arrival and will be first come, first serve.
