On Nostell's cycling trails you can discover parts of the estate's woodland on a 4km figure-of-eight loop featuring two bike-only sections: one for beginners and one for those with a little more experience. Keep an eye out for special cycling events throughout the year too.
To reach the trails, follow the green cycle signs from the car park to Boathouse Bridge. Head out into the parkland along the Carriageway path, past the wildflower meadows and up to Obelisk Lodge. This section is shared with other parkland users, so please watch out for walkers, wheelchair users and buggies
Once you reach Obelisk Lodge, turn left for the green trail, which is great for little legs, or turn right to whizz round a few more twists and turns on the blue trail - it's bikes only once you've gone through the gate.
Both sections are circular and approximately 1km long each. Cycling at Nostell is a fun way to explore the great outdoors in every season.
You'll find secure cycle racks in the Stables Courtyard.
We're sorry but bikes and scooters aren't permitted in the garden (including the woodland play area).
During school holidays and at other times throughout the year, Nostell hosts cycling events and activities for the whole family, including skills sessions and guided rides of different lengths. Need to borrow a bike? No problem – you can book one in advance. Keep an eye on our events page for more details on what's coming up.
