- Booking not needed
- Free event
Join us this September for a free day of fun.
Try out our new wild play area in Joiner's Wood before heading into the gardens to enjoy zipping through the trees, swinging, bouncing and climbing the tall tower. Don’t forget to visit the house to discover the story of Sabine Winn and join in with some crafting activities. There will also be games on the vista on Saturday.
Stretch your legs on a peaceful walk to remote parts of the woods or a short stroll with the family, you'll find there’s a walk to suit everyone. There are 300 acres of parkland to explore, with ancient woodland, wildflower meadows, lakes, and an accessible route up to Obelisk Lodge. Take a gentle stroll through the garden to appreciate the flowers, meander through the orchard, or enjoy an accessible circular lake walk which takes you through a gothic arch to the tranquil Menagerie Garden.
The house showcases interiors by Robert Adam, a world-class Thomas Chippendale collection, a rare 18th-century dolls’ house, an exquisite painting by Sir Thomas More, and one of the first longcase clocks made by the famous inventor, John Harrison. Follow in the footsteps of the varied fortunes of the Winn family and discover a world of exquisite craftsmanship, opulent interiors, and tales from generations who lived here. This is the perfect opportunity to explore all of this treasured history for free.
