Stories, Myths and Legends of Attingham

This December explore the beautifully decorated Georgian Mansion, where over twenty rooms are adorned with glittering Christmas trees inspired by stories, myths, and legends. From the mighty gods of Greek and Roman mythology to the timeless stories woven through Attingham’s past, each room tells its own unique festive tale. The magical atmosphere brings history to life, creating an unforgettable Christmas experience.

You can visit from Saturday, 30 November to Wednesday, 1 January (excluding Christmas Day) for pre-bookable festive visits.

Mansion tickets will be available to book from noon on Thursday, 14 November 2024, via the website (tickets released in stages).

Spot the Berwick Bunny

There’s a little bit of mischief in the Mansion this Christmas! In each room on the Ground Floor, there are Berwick bunnies burrowed away. Can you catch them all hidden within our festive decorations?

The Christmas Quest

Join us for a magical adventure this Christmas as Noel the Dragon embarks on a quest to find his stolen treasure!

Explore the Mile Walk and Walled Garden to help Noel solve the mystery of which mischievous mythical character has made off with his treasure. Along the way, you’ll encounter enchanting Christmas trees, each inspired by myths and legends from near and far, hidden around every corner.

The family-friendly trail will run from Saturday 30 November to Sunday 5 January (excluding Christmas Day), with trail sheets available from Visitor Reception for £4.50.

As an extra treat, return to Visitor Recepetion and receive a cuddly Noel the Dragon as a prize (while stocks last).

Saturday 7, 14, and 21 December

For the first time ever, experience Attingham at Dusk.

This Christmas explore Attingham in the twilight as it opens on Saturday evenings. Visit the decorated Mansion, then, with a torch in hand, bundle up and follow the Mile Walk, discover the decorated Christmas trees. Normal admission charges/free admission for National Trust members.

Afterwards, warm up with a cup of mulled wine or hot chocolate and treat yourself to a festive snack in the Stables Courtyard, under a canopy of twinkling lights. 

Pre-booking is essential, and while admission costs apply, the event is free for members.

Tickets will be available to book via the website from late November. 

Friday 6 December - Monday 23 December

Father Christmas at Sunnycroft

Father Christmas will be stopping off at Sunnycroft, in Wellington again this year.

Step through the mouse hole into a whimsical world where festive preparations are underway at Sunnycroft. Delight in the sight of mice feasting, playing, and decking the halls. As the grand finale, visit Father Christmas himself, where you can share your Christmas wishes, don’t forget your Christmas list!

Father Christmas will be visiting Sunnycroft from Friday 6 December to Monday 23 December.

Experience the magic of Christmas at Sunnycroft in a new light!

While Father Christmas is away seeing other children, the adults get to have a look behind the scenes. 

Discover how our talented team brings the festive season to life. Step through the mouse hole and enter a charming world where mice prepare for Christmas. See the intricate details, clever touches, and the hard work that goes into creating the enchanting experience. Though Father Christmas won't be present, it's the perfect visit for curious minds who want to peek into the magic of how it's all made.

Peek behind the scenes on a timed session between 11.30am-2pm from 18 December to 20 December. Pre-book your timed entry ticket online.

Sunnycroft is only open for pre-booked ticket holders this December. Group sizes are limited to 12 people due to the size of the house. Pre-booking is essential. This experience is recommended for ages 14+. Tickets cost £5 per person.
