The gates to the visitor car park will be opened at 10am. The car park is locked at 5.30pm, please ensure you have returned to your vehicle by this time. The west lawn in front of the house and the wider parkland, including walks, are open 363 days a year. House opening hours are more limited because Hatchlands is a family home.

There is plenty of parking, with the main car park being on hard standing. The overflow car park is open during busy periods. There is no charge for car parking.
You can find the Engine room bookshop, our second-hand bookshop in the cobbled courtyard.
Assistance dogs only in the house, the formal gardens and the children's natural adventure area. Well-behaved dogs under close control are welcome in designated parkland areas. Please ensure your dog is on a lead around livestock. Dogs on leads are welcome in the both cafés.
The Kitchen Café serves barista-style hot and cold drinks, hot and cold meals, cooked breakfasts (weekends only from early April), ice creams, children's lunches, pastries and cakes and bakes to eat in or take away. If you bring your own cup, we will give you 25p off as a thank you. We have high chairs and accessible crockery and cutlery.

Hatchlands Park is located directly along the A246, Epsom Road, approximately 4.5 miles from Guildford town centre. From A3 southbound: leave the A3 at the junction signposted Ockham, Ripley, Send. Follow the B2215 through Ripley Village. After approximately 1.75 miles, at the roundabout take 1st exit onto A247. After approximately 2 miles, at the traffic signals, turn left onto the A246. You’ll arrive after approximately 1.5 miles. Follow brown signs to the visitor car park on your left. From A3 northbound: leave the A3 at the junction signposted Ripley, Woking, Dorking. After approximately 0.5 miles, at the roundabout take 3rd exit onto A247 and then follow the above.

Clandon Station (CLA), Station Road, West Clandon, GU4 7TE is approximately 2.5 miles from Hatchlands Park. It is situated on the London Waterloo to Guildford mainline. There is no taxi rank at this station. Walking from Clandon station will take approximately 45 minutes, partly along a busy main road with some stretches of dual carriageway. Horsley Station (HSY), Station Approach, Horsley, KT24 6QX is approximately 4 miles from Hatchlands Park. It is situated on the London Waterloo to Guildford mainline. There is no taxi rank at this station. Walking from Horsley station will take approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, partly along a busy main road.
Services 463, 478 and 479. • The bus stops for Hatchlands Park are situated 100 metres from the property entrance on the eastbound carriageway and 500 metres from the property entrance on the westbound carriageway. • Please note, the A246, on which Hatchlands Park is situated, is a busy A-road. The section of carriageway at the entrance to the park is a single carriageway, widening to dual carriageway 400 metres away. There are no formal crossing points in place and the speed limit is 50mph. Please take care if your journey requires you to cross this section of carriageway.
The closest National Cycle Routes are routes 22 and 223 both of which run through Guildford town centre, approximately 4.5 miles from Hatchlands. See Sustrans for more details. The routes of the Olympic cycle race and the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey cycle races run right outside Hatchlands Park entrance along the A246.

From Sat 10 May - Sun 6 July, join us for an enchanting journey inspired by Eric Carle’s beloved children’s book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar™. This charming trail brings to life the best-selling story of the tiny caterpillar who hatches from an egg and is so hungry he eats through a variety of fruits and snacks each day. The caterpillar then forms a chrysalis around himself and, after some time, emerges as a beautiful butterfly.
Immerse yourself in an outdoor theatre performance this summer at Hatchlands Park, with magic and comedy from Shakespeare, classic romance from Jane Austen, comic opera with HMS Pinafore and an enchanting production of Wind in the Willows.

Hatchlands Park was built in the 1750s for naval hero Admiral Edward Boscawen and his wife Fanny, since then it has housed wealthy families, a finishing school for girls and even a printing press. Today you can visit the parkland or stop for coffee in the Kitchen Café all year round. You can also see inside our house on six afternoons a week, between March and October.
Take the time to wander through our 400 acres of rolling parkland and woodland, one of the largest country estates in the area and full of year round seasonal colour. You can follow waymarked walks, enjoy the tranquillity of our garden, discover areas of the park partly landscaped by Humphry Repton or bring the family to experience our natural adventure area for children.
Our mansion is now a family home, containing tenant Alec Cobbe’s collection of paintings and fine furniture. Also on display is the Cobbe Collection, Europe’s largest collection of keyboard instruments associated with famous composers including JC Bach, Chopin and Elgar. An early interior design commission for architect Robert Adam, his work can be seen in ceilings and fireplaces throughout the house.
