Join us this summer for our series of outdoor theatre on the lawn at Hatchlands Park. Delight in the fantasy and comedy of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and The Tempest, be captivated by the romance of Pride and Prejudice and the comic opera HMS Pinafore, and join in the adventures of Ratty, Mole and Toad in a magical performance of Wind in the Willows.

Twelfth Night

Sun 27 July, 7-9.05pm

"If music be the food of love, play on!"

Romantic confusion, mistaken identity, practical jokes and riotous disorder abounds in Shakespeare’s hilarious and lyrical romantic comedy about love, its many and glorious facets, and the mess it can make of us all.

With a history stretching back to William Shakespeare himself, The Lord Chamberlain’s Men present this great play as he first saw it, in the open air, with an all-male cast and Elizabethan costumes, music and dance.

The Tempest

Shakespeare’s most magical play bursting with mayhem, comedy, romance, and surprises!

Immersion Theatre – the multi-award nominated company behind last year’s smash hit “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, proudly presents The Tempest; Shakespeare’s unforgettable tale of magic, romance, comedy, and revenge! With heaps of audience participation, this mesmerising show will be brought to life in unforgettable style, perfect for both, seasoned theatre-goers and newcomers to Shakespeare’s work. HMS Pinafore

Sun 3 August, 7-9pm

Illyria theatre would like to welcome you on board HMS Pinafore at Hatchlands Park. Meet Josephine, the captain’s daughter who loves Ralph a common sailor. But will class get in the way of love?

Full to the gunwales with sharp dialogue and catchy tunes, this timeless comic opera is performed outdoors by a cast of six outstanding performers on a spectacular nautical set, using Sullivan’s full score.

Pride and Prejudice

Sat 16 Aug, 7-9.15pm

Step back in time over two hundred years and meet Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters as they navigate the mire of manners of regency society. With stunning period costume, timeless wit, and a romantic original score, Chapterhouse’s Pride and Prejudice is a faithful telling of Austen’s greatest work. Join family and friends for an evening of magical theatre in the 250th anniversary year of Austen’s birth

Wind in the Willows

Sun 24 Aug, 6-8pm

Pack your picnics and join Ratty, Mole, Badger, and the fantastically irrepressible Toad as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime culminating in a colourful battle to save Toad Hall from the mischievous weasels!

Multi-award nominated Immersion Theatre proudly bring their trademark style and energy to the riverbank with heaps of interaction, stunning costumes, toe-tapping music, and larger-than-life characters. A TOAD-ally terrific treat whether you’re 4 or 104!

What to bring

Please bring your own chairs or a rug. Picnics are very welcome. Light refreshments will be available in the interval. All performances will continue in wet weather, so please check the weather before you visit and dress accordingly. Gates open 30 minutes before the performance starts.
