Doc Martin fans will recognise this pretty coastal cottage set in a former fisherman's home on the hill in Port Gaverne with gorgeous sea views.
Next door to The White Cottage (another holiday cottage) and used as the film set for the Police House in Doc Martin, this little cottage in the hamlet of Port Gaverne has wonderful views over the sea. Even if you haven’t seen the series then the location will blow you away, with Port Isaac around half a mile away and the stunning Cornish coastline on your doorstep.
This historic little cottage was a former fisherman's home, but now it’s an inviting holiday let. Open the front door and step into the entrance hall, off which you’ll find a cosy living room with woodburner and dining room. Then there’s the kitchen and a downstairs cloakroom and toilet. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, one double and one that can be either a twin or a double. There’s also a first floor snug with wonderful views across the sea and another woodburner to make it really cosy. The garden outside is enclosed with a table and chairs for enjoying alfresco meals outside after lazy days at the beach.
With the charming hamlet of Port Gaverne and its dog-friendly beach to wander and rock pools to explore, as well as buzzy Port Isaac’s narrow white-washed streets only half a mile away, you’ll find yourself perfectly positioned for enjoying everything that a Cornish break has to offer. Soak up the pretty seaside towns, stunning beaches and wonderful food.
Beach lovers should head to Polzeath, only four miles away from the cottage, for one of North Cornwall’s best surfing beaches, or spend some time at Rock, Daymer Bay or Crackington Haven to stroll the sands, paddle or build sandcastles. You can also enjoy clifftop walks along the beautiful coast here, picking up the South West Coast Path from just outside the cottage door. If history is your thing, then take a trip to dramatic Tintagel Castle perched above the waves and soak up its Arthurian legends. Foodie Padstow is always busy, but also makes for a great day out exploring, or nip to Lanhydrock, a Victorian country house and estate. When you stay with us, the funds from your holiday go towards caring for special landscapes and places, like the wonderful Cornish coast.
