About Compass Cottage

Walkers and families will love this little retreat, perched in glorious leafy woodland on the Dart Estuary portion of the South West Coast Path - which pretty much guarantees you’ll find glorious walks all around. When you’re taking a break from all those wonderful walks, then nip into the beautiful foodie town of Dartmouth where you’ll discover all sorts of delicious treats.

You’ll love the contemporary feel of this charming cottage, which is set over three floors. Open the door and you’ll find the large light-filled kitchen/ diner, sitting room and utility. On the first floor there’s a double and a single bedroom, a bathroom and then head up again to the master suite on the second floor. The cottage has an electric car charging point.

Less than a mile from the cottage, you’ll find the pretty and vibrant harbour town of Dartmouth, which has a programme of festivals, events, exhibitions and markets to enjoy throughout the year. It’s also a food lovers paradise with everything from seafood to fudge (and of course ice cream as well).

With the South West Coast path outside your door, and also the fact that you’re inside the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there’s so much to explore when you stay at Compass, whether you’re a slow stroller, serious walker, nature lover, watersports enthusiast, beach goer or a foodie traveller. The stunning south Devon coast and countryside with its myriad tiny towns make great days out whether by car, foot, bike or boat. Pause to take in castles (Dartmouth and Compton), marinas, forts, galleries, historical houses like Greenway (Agatha Christie’s holiday home) or Coleton Fishacre, ferry trips or simply retreat to one of a number of beautiful beaches to relax and enjoy your break.
