Discover golden beaches, ruined castles and rolling countryside from this cosy, rural escape at the heart of the Jurassic coast.
This charming cottage nestles in idyllic countryside on a working cattle and sheep farm. It is thought to have been used as the Cheese House and dairy for Westwood Farm and has now been transformed into a snug and characterful cottage for two. Enjoy peaceful views over the surrounding farmland from the bedroom. Downstairs, there is a lounge with a wood burner - ideal for curling up in front of the fire after a day exploring. There’s also a small, enclosed garden with a grassy area and extensive views down the Purbeck valley – perfect for sunny days. The Cheese House is linked to the larger Westwood Farmhouse by an open loggia.
The Cheese House offers a great central location to explore the Jurassic Coast. You could go hunting for fossils on the beach, kayak to Old Harry Rocks, or explore the cobbled streets of Dorset’s harbour towns. 1,000-year-old Corfe Castle is also just a five-minute drive away and guests at the cottage can visit the ancient ruins for free.
A ten-minute drive down the road takes you to Studland Bay where you can walk, sunbathe or swim along the four-mile stretch of golden, sandy beach. You can also hop on a ferry and head over to Brownsea Island or Bournemouth & Poole.
