Ambrey Cottage

Ambrey Cottage is a beautiful, spacious holiday home set over two floors in a stunning location surrounded by woodland. With no-one around to spoil the silence, the cottage is perfect for a peaceful break for up to five people and two dogs. 

Get everyone up bright and early and head out on one of the many walking trails that surround the area. Take in spectacular views and explore the 1500 acre Croft estate. Guests are also invited to visit the castle for free.

Further afield, visit the cathedral city of Hereford. Just 20 miles from the cottage, this historic city is a great place to find delicious local products – Hereford is famous for its cider and there are many producers around the county you can visit. It’s quite beautiful too with the River Wye meandering through its unspoilt countryside, and beguiling black and white villages nestling in between. 

Please note: Access is via a long track through woodland therefore arrival in daylight is recommended, we do not advise using low slung vehicles on the track. Access to the cottage can be difficult in adverse weather conditions and we may not be able to prepare the cottage for your stay, and you would also not be able to access the cottage safely.  If this is the case we will contact you in advance and discuss options with you.

Heating: LPG central heating and hot water included. Due to its remoteness, the cottage has its own generator for electrical appliances, and a gas cooker is provided.

Utilities/Electricals:  Due to the cottage being on a generator, high voltage items can not be used at the same time at the cottage. There is a fridge freezer with a standard size fridge but a smaller 41 litre freezer compartment on the top. 

Parking: Parking for several cars next to the cottage.

Garden: There is a steep garden surrounding the cottage.

Offers: Holiday cottage guests have free access to Croft Castle during opening hours and access at all times to the parkland.

Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm
