This quirky cottage is a former gate lodge on the Felbrigg Estate, home to an elegant country house, walled garden and rolling landscape park. Cromer Beach and the coastal path are nearby.
Cromer Lodge, a small, stone cottage, is part of the former gate lodge to Felbrigg Hall. It was built in 1841 in a Jacobean style of architecture. It has a secluded garden surrounded by woodland and an open fire in the sitting room.
During your stay, you'll have free entry to Felbrigg Hall during opening hours; the welcoming 17th-century hall is one of the largest in the care of the National Trust, and has a fascinating collection. Take time to explore the gardens and Orangery, and enjoy a bracing walk to take in the estate's lake, woodland and trails.
If you’re a keen rambler, you'll find the beaches of West Runton and Cromer in walking distance, otherwise they’re just a 10-minute drive away. From Cromer, join up with the Norfolk Coast Path or, for a more leisurely afternoon, head to a nearby market town, Holt, with its shops, cafés and restaurants, a 25-minute drive away.
