About St Oswald's Cottage

Journey along the causeway to Holy Island and stay in this unique Grade II listed cottage in the bustling village of Lindisfarne. It will be quite an adventure to get here; you’ll drive along the causeway before it becomes submerged by the North Sea.

The 20th-century, three-bedroom cottage was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens for Edward Hudson, who at the time owned the island’s castle. It echoes a number of recognised Lutyens features such as the red pan tiled roof and original style doors and windows. Inside, elegant interiors run throughout, from the dark wood furniture and a period fireplace to a roll-top bath.

You’ll be overlooking the harbour and Lindisfarne castle, which is just a 10 minute walk through green fields. Afterwards go for a stroll along the coast which is protected by the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve. Here you’ll be able to spot an abundance of wildlife such as grey seals, rare seabirds and dolphins.

Glen House (sleeps two) is a short walk from St Oswald's Cottage, on the main street in the village. The cottages can be booked together for a group stay.
